How we handle shop and caller information.
Leads After Dark (“LAD”) provides an AI receptionist for independent shops. This notice describes our website, demo line, shop portal, and live calls. It is being finalized for the pilot; contact andrew@leadsafterdark.com with a privacy request.
A voice provider processes the audio needed to answer calls. Our application keeps call details and a useful summary. We have not verified the voice provider’s live storage and retention settings, so we cannot yet promise that it keeps no recordings or transcripts. Do not forward outside callers until those settings and the spoken notice are verified.
Who we are and whose callers these are
LAD runs leadsafterdark.com and answers calls forwarded by participating shops. The shop decides which number to forward and what business information LAD may use. A caller can contact that shop or LAD about a call record; we will coordinate requests with the shop where appropriate.
Information we use
- Account identity from Google sign-in, such as name, email, profile photo, and account identifier. Sign-in alone does not give us Calendar access.
- Shop details, approved facts, services, hours, coverage, on-call contacts, phone numbers, and settings that the owner provides or approves. We may read a shop website to prepare a draft profile.
- Demo and service call metadata, including phone numbers, timestamps, duration, status, transfer outcome, and operational events. Live call records may contain a structured summary and a caller message with their name, number, reason, and urgency. The application stores a full transcript only if a separate transcript-storage setting is enabled.
- Calendar account and selected calendar information if a shop separately connects Google Calendar. We use availability to find openings and create bookings that the shop enables.
- Subscription status and transaction identifiers from Stripe; Stripe handles payment details. We also use website and portal analytics, including page views and interaction events, to understand use and troubleshoot the service.
How information is used and shared
We use this information to authenticate shops, answer approved questions, take and deliver messages, arrange enabled bookings and urgent transfers, send recaps, bill subscriptions, secure and improve the service, and respond to support requests. The shop and authorized LAD operators can see information needed for those tasks. Service providers include Google for sign-in and optional Calendar access, Retell and phone providers for calls, Stripe for billing, Resend for email, PostHog for analytics, and hosting/database providers. We do not sell caller or shop personal information.
Google Calendar data is used only for the connected shop’s availability and bookings, and is not used for advertising or training a generalized AI model. LAD’s app does not use caller audio to train a public model. The voice provider’s storage and processing settings require a separate operational check before external calls.
Call audio and transcripts
Voice processing necessarily handles call audio while a call is in progress. LAD’s application does not save raw audio, and its default webhook setting does not save full transcripts in the LAD database. The voice provider can separately retain audio and transcripts depending on its agent settings. We will verify its live configuration, retention, and caller notice before onboarding outside callers; this draft does not claim that provider-side recording is disabled.
Retention and requests
Shop accounts and profiles remain while the account is active, subject to deletion requests and records we must retain for billing, security, or legal reasons. The LAD database currently has no verified automatic expiration for call summaries, callbacks, or call event records. Provider retention has not been verified. We are setting a defined retention and deletion process before the external pilot. Ask the shop or email us to request access, correction, or deletion of a caller note; we will verify and handle the request as applicable. We will update this notice when the operational policy is implemented.
Safety and changes
Please do not give LAD sensitive medical, financial, or payment information in a call. For an emergency, hang up and call 911. We may update this notice as the service and verified practices change, with the effective date shown here.
